Lumina Media Centre | University for the Creative Arts

The Lumina Media Centre at UCA Farnham is a hub of creativity that focuses on the connection between technology and storytelling.

Housing a collective of filmmakers, animators, and digital artists, it promotes research and collaborative projects. Within the studio, you’ll find a diverse array of specialised facilities that cater to various forms of media and production.

These include the Animation IT Suite, Film Studio, Illustration Base, Animation Lightbox IT, Animation Base Room, Animation Rostrum Room, Stop Motion Space, TV Studio, Photostudio, and the Digital Photo Darkroom.

Each space is meticulously designed and equipped to support the creative endeavours of its users, and together they underline Lumina's commitment to pushing the boundaries of media and production.

This room contains three bays, each with a Canon camera and one with an electric slider for enhanced camera control.

It also has studio lights, gels, materials library and a small workstation for repairs.

This room contains a 73-seat cinema.

This stop motion studio contains four rostrum stages, all suitable for light box work and one containing a multiplane.

Photography Studios

This large photography studio contains six Bowens flash heads mounted on pantographs and a variety of light modifiers, soft boxes and shoot throughs snoots.
