Undergraduate degrees
A January start won't set you back.
We'll help you catch up in your first few months and you will have completed your first year by the end of the summer 2025.
Year 2 will then begin in September 2025 and year 3 in September 2026, meaning you'll graduate at the same time as everyone else from your course.

Postgraduate degrees
Starting a degree in January 2025 means that your course will run just like those starting in the Autumn, exactly a term later. You'll complete your studies by January 2026.

Accommodation guides
Finding accommodation when you start a course in January can be a challenge, as most landlords are used to renting out from September.
We have a limited number of rooms available in halls of residence on campus which you can apply for directly (contact the local accommodation office) however it is likely you will have to look in the private rental sector.
Details of areas to consider are listed below in our private accommodation guides. For example, in Surrey, Guildford is a student city and hosts students from Surrey university, University of Law, Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), and Italia Conti making it a vibrant student town in which to live. You can catch direct trains to both Epsom (40 minutes) and Farnham (25 minutes).
Our accommodation team has put together guides for January entrants seeking private accommodation which gives you advice on where to seek a place to stay. Please email them directly on [email protected] if you have specific questions or need some help.
